在自曝對somebody情有獨鍾後，一位不曾見過面的配音員朋友的朋友，在2000年5月2日回了封mail給我

很高興有同好，我也滿喜歡楊乃文......的歌(人...還好，沒什麼感覺)

不過，關於你說的Somebody這首歌，雖然楊乃文表現得也不錯，不過我更喜歡別的版本。

這首somebody，其實翻唱自英國一個老牌電子團體Depeche Mode多年前發表的一首同名歌曲，目前他們在台灣也是由魔岩代理，我想這也是這首歌會被選擇翻唱的原因之一。

雖然中譯的歌詞與原詞已經很接近，可能因為我事先聽過它原來的樣子吧!總覺得還是原詞比較好。

至於唱的部分，與編曲的方式，除了原創的版本之外，我更推薦出自另一張一群"後輩"對Depeche Mode致敬之作，名為"for the Masses"的專輯中一個叫"veruca salt"的團體所處理的版本，同樣是非常簡單的編曲，同樣是女聲，，這個版本的Vocal表現似乎比楊乃文更令人感動(可不是灑狗血的那種感動喔!)
